What we collect when you book or write to us, who else sees it, and how to have it deleted.

Who holds your information

What we collect
To book a room or a package: your name, email address, phone number, arrival and departure dates, number of guests, any requests you write, and your payment details.
To answer a group enquiry: your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, group size, and what you tell us about your plans.
To save a trip plan: your email address and the itinerary you built.
To arrange a transfer or a tour: the above, plus your flight details, pick-up location and destination.
Why we hold it
To take and honor your reservation, to take payment, to answer you, and to keep the guest records Costa Rican law requires a hotel to keep.
Who else sees it
Cloudbeds holds our reservations and guest records.
Stripe processes card payments made on this website. Your card details go to Stripe directly and are never stored on our servers.
Supabase stores our booking records and saved trip plans, and Vercel hosts and serves this website.
Resend delivers the emails we send you about your stay, such as your booking confirmation.
Akia is the platform we use to message guests.
Google serves the typefaces this site is set in, on every page, and the map on our contact page. Google receives your IP address when those load.
Tour and transfer operators. We do not operate tours, activities or airport transfers. Every one is run by an independent, licensed operator. If you book one through us we pass that operator what they need to provide it: your name, contact details, the number of people, and for transfers your flight details, pick-up location and destination. The operator is named on the booking form you sign, and their own terms apply from that point. We share nothing with any operator unless you book with them.
We do not sell your information and we do not share it for advertising.
Information that leaves Costa Rica
Card payments made on this website are processed in the United States. The Stripe account used for them is held by Cork & Boot LLC, a company registered in Florida, trading as Bird of Paradise Hotel. This means your name, contact details and payment information are transferred to and held in the United States.
How long we keep it
We keep booking and payment records for as long as Costa Rican tax and hotel record-keeping rules require, and no longer.
Saved trip plans and enquiry messages are kept while they are still useful for helping you, and deleted when they are not. You can ask us to delete yours at any time.
When a period ends we delete the information or remove anything that identifies you.
Your rights
Under Ley 8968 you may ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and withdraw your consent. Withdrawing consent does not undo what we did before you withdrew it, and we may need to keep some records to meet legal obligations.

If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and the date shown above.
